These words are, of course, in reference to the heinous crimes of Adolph Hitler and his Nazi regime at the time of World War II. More than 50 years later, people the world over still cannot forget the extent of the havoc wreaked upon humanity by this evil. And it is the duty of the world's citizens to take Justice Jackson's words to heart and not let such wrongs be repeated, for the sake of civilization.

Yet in the most populated nation on Earth-The People's Republic of China-such evil exists. During the past thirteen years of his rule, Jiang Zemin has viciously and relentlessly persecuted the Chinese people, brought disaster to the country, and deceived and endangered the world. His crimes have threatened the basic values that we as humans share, and it is our responsibility to stop such tyrannical persecution in its tracks - so we do not look back on history with regret.

Stopping persecution in its tracks. This is the mission of the Global Coalition To Bring Jiang To Justice. There is no political purpose or agenda, simply the goal to defend ethics, morality, and justice by shining the light on Jiang's crimes so the world's people can judge on the basis of conscience and principle.

The Coalition was formed because in the face of violence and lies, good people cannot remain silent. When humanity's fundamental freedoms are jeopardized and basic human rights violated, we cannot look on with indifference. The essential values we rely on for survival are being challenged, so we must join together to defend them. Otherwise, we will pay a heavy price in the future, as history has taught us.

Falun Gong practitioners have already stepped forward to initiate litigation against Jiang and regime officials, and many others persecuted in China are stepping out as well. Chinese people are standing up throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. Many concerned groups and international organizations are also speaking out, all with the common goal of upholding justice while holding Jiang and his accomplices accountable in international courts and eventually in China.

In the short run, bringing Jiang to justice will stop him and his regime from brutalizing China's citizens, draining the nation's resources in order to fund nationwide persecution, and pressuring other countries into going against their conscience to condone the regime's behavior in return for economic gain. It will also warn other government officials in China not to follow the will of a despot. In the long run, such action will have a positive impact on China's attitude toward civil and human rights, morality, and rule of law. It will contribute to world peace, development, and prosperity as well.

Bringing Jiang to justice will be the first case in the history of China to embody the power of conscience, morality, and law to bring a tyrant that is still in power to justice. By working together to expose Jiang's crimes, the world's citizens will send a message to tyrants everywhere that such behavior will no longer be tolerated and that justice does indeed prevail, thus preparing a bright future for all of humanity.
